Trials after Birth Injuries

June 19th, 2009

After giving birth to a terrific baby boy that had suffered some brain damage during child birth, I decided that I needed to contact a Chicago birth injury attorney to see if the doctor was at fault, or if the situation could have been prevented. There were initial signs that the baby may have been in distress but the doctor held off on ordering an emergency cesarean. I believed that this hesitation was what was responsible for the brain damage, but I could not get any direct answers from the hospital staff.

After understanding that no one wanted to give me the answers that I was looking for, I decided that I needed to contact an outside source to see what my options were. I knew that my baby would have special needs, require an extensive amount of medical care, and that I needed to find out if there was any available recourse for this injury.

I decided to locate a high profile Chicago birth injury attorney to discuss my case with. At the initial consultation I was very impressed by the understanding and sympathetic treatment that I received. The lawyer was very patient and answered all of the questions that I had. He informed me that he needed to do some research and that he would get back to me the next day and let me know if he believed that we should proceed with a medical malpractice lawsuit.

The very next morning, the Chicago birth injury lawyer called me back and told me that he would be happy to represent my case. He also reassured me that he would do everything in his power to make sure that I won a settlement that fair and that would help me to take care of my son for the rest of his life. I finally started to feel a little bit better. I knew that if I could secure some money to give my child the best medical care possible that it would be a huge burden lifted off of my mind.

By hiring a expert Chicago birth injury lawyer, I knew that my case would be handled in the most professional manner possible. I was also confident that the lawyer would not accept a settlement that was below what I was hoping for. I wanted to make sure that I could secure the future of my baby and be able to afford all of the necessary medical care that was required for his condition for the rest of his life.

Used Engines are a low cost incentive for restoring your car

June 2nd, 2009

Losing an engine can almost be like having a heart attack. You hear your heart skip a beat as you ask yourself, “What am I going to do next?”

While replacing an engine can be costly, chances are that it’s cheaper than replacing the entire car. If a car has a few good years left in it, why wouldn’t it be worth salvaging by swapping it with a used engine?

Of course, “used” is a relative term. You don’t want to be a used engine that’s so problematic that you end up feeling “used” by the whole exchange.

When it comes to buying used engines, it’s great to inquire where the engine is coming from. How much mileage does the engine have on it? Has it been checked closely? Is it guaranteed or insured for any particular length of time? It’s always best that the engine is covered by a explanatory pledge that specifically details what services are covered and what are not.

Some organizations that focus in used engines only get their engines from automobile accidents in which the engine was not damaged and did not have much mileage on it to begin with. These are best, as you are getting an engine that still has plenty of life in it. You don’t want to replace the engine with an engine that already has too many miles. What’s the point of replacing it with an engine that’s about to go?

Engines can also be very confusing, especially when working with foreign models. All specifications and gauges must be exact. By working with a specialized company that knows the engine industry inside and out, you can save yourself a lot of headache. They’ll get you exactly what you need, no matter hard to get the engine or model of car.

Especially if you have a Japanese car, replacing the engine with a low mileage engine means that you can drive it virtually until the body gives out. Those cars are made to last, which makes the investment of a used engine worth every penny. A used Japanese car is truly an asset worth recovering, almost like buying an almost new car for just under $1,000. Who would say no to a deal like that?

Engine failure isn’t the end of the world. With the right used engine, you can still get plenty of life and performance out of your car for the price it would take to buy a high school kid’s old beater. With a used engine, you get a lot of performance for a little investment. Why not call a qualified car specialist and see what they can do today?

Attracting Customers

March 23rd, 2009

For many Illinois businesses, attracting commuter and drive-by traffic is the difference between enormous profitability and bankruptcy. While billboard advertising is an ideal way to reach drivers in their cars, when just as in real estate, the rules of advertising are three: location, location, location. Marketing your business, service, or product to a specific demographic is the only way to monetize the hard-earned money that gets allocated to marketing. The position of your billboard is far more important than any catchy slogan or design feat. Billboard ads that fail to draw traffic aren’t failing because of their contents or because they are billboards are ineffective. (See especially the discussion of Bigfoot advertising.)

Take, for instance, the goal of reaching commuters to and from Chicago to Waukegan or the north shore. Lake County advertising is a must for any business that relies on commuter traffic. Lake county is an extremely desirable place to advertise for a number of reasons. First, the upwardly mobile population makes the county the 31st richest in the country — wealth that can translate into tremendous returns in sales of products and services, or in capturing the attention of the much sought-after “influencers” or “decision-makers,” whose social capital will multiply the effect of converting them into customers.

For those looking to capitalize even more on suburban wealth, Barrington advertising provides a good way to target a lot of Chicago suburbanites. Billboards in Cary or Fox River Grove are truly in the faces of of the many thousands of commuters who make this trip every day. While not all of them are rich, there is enough wealth in Barrington to make advertising to its residents worthwhile. While marketers for local services like gas and restaurants can do well, those offering higher-end services can make constant impressions on wealthy, middle-aged suburban parents. Cosmetic dentistry practices have benefited, as will non-profits, extracurricular activities, and — especially in this housing market — real estate companies offering experience as their point of distinction. Lake county advertising has seen similar successes with the latter.

Bigfoot advertising functions in a similar fashion. While the state line is not exactly jammed with traffic, the airport traffic and interstate freight traffic that passes from Wisconsin to Illinois and vice-versa make it the perfect place to advertise for businesses that rely heavily on patronage from users of the interstate: travelers to and from the airport, truckers who carry cargo interstate, and commuters who travel the same route. Gas stations, restaurants, hotels, airlines, traffic lawyers, and even transportation to and from the airport or across state lines are big beneficiaries of this well-placed advertising, which is really the only way to reach travelers on specific routes. We can see how this location works most clearly when we juxtapose with Barrington advertising.

Billboard advertising, like all advertising, allows marketers to target specific users. The same commuter and traveling routes are used by people who have a lot in common as far as their needs for products for services; targeting them and converting them is just a matter of location, as all three examples have shown.

A Different Career for a Healing Person

February 13th, 2009

I spent several years in a community college and ended up feeling as if I had no better sense of direction compared to when I first graduated from high school. The only difference was that now I had racked up an abundance of student loans that were weighing heavily upon my mind and scaring me into staying in college even though I knew that conventional schooling just wasn’t for me.

I wasn’t interested in any of the career options that counselors were placing in front of me. I didn’t want to go into criminal justice, I never liked math so I wanted to steer clear of any business classes, and I was not computer savvy either. I was interested in the health care profession but I knew that I just couldn’t deal with blood or broken bones. The idea of helping people to get better did leave an impression on me. And I also knew that the health care field was one of the few professions that was not affected by the declining economical condition of our country.

I talked to a couple of friends and they suggested that I look into rehabilitative healthcare professions, and one of them recommended that I look into getting a massage degree. The idea of being a massage therapist had never occurred to me before, but I was interested in learning more about it.

I did a little research and found out that I could earn my massage degree in just fifteen months. There were a number of programs in my area and I could get started right away. So I left community college so that I could stop wasting my time and get serious about a real career. I looked forward to actually taking classes that would pertain to a real career instead of amounting to nothing but a list of earned credits that weren’t going to be applied towards anything.

I enrolled in a massage degree program with more enthusiasm than I had in years. I looked forward to taking the classes, to gaining clinical experience, and to finishing the program so I could finally start a career. I was excited that I had finally figured out what direction I wanted my life to go in. It was very motivational to know that after I completed the program that I would be able to help people who had injuries or that were suffering from back or neck pain.

A lot of pride in a small package

February 13th, 2009

Wearing an Air Force medal is more than a matter of personal pride. It’s the pride of being part of something greater, of carrying the honor of service to those who gave their lives. More than self-recognition, medals serve as tributes to those cadets who are no longer with us to wear them proudly themselves

When you wear your Air Force service uniform, it should glow with pride and dignity. In uniform, you become a symbol of the glory of America’s armed services. You should stand out in the crowd, whether you’re in church, visiting an elementary school, or marching in a community parade. You wear it for more than just pride in yourself. You wear it out of honor for those who made the greatest sacrifice possible for this country, those who lay down their lives to preserve our most precious freedoms.

Which is why when you publicly wear a uniform, you should always strive to look your best. An Air Force medal not only adds color, dimension and dignity to a uniform, it serves as a reminder that freedom is never gotten for free. It must be taken, bought with the price of those who have fallen so that we may be free. The more decorated a uniform, the more that tribute is recognized. An impressive collection of medals stands out in a parade, reminding us all of the meaning of complete sacrifice.

Ideally, medals should always be kept polished. Pride is in the details. It shows a drive to succeed, a reflection of extra effort to go the extra mile to get the job done. The reflection of polished medals bestows honor to a uniform, reminds us all of the responsibility bestowed on those pledge to protect our freedoms. It also suggests that you strive for perfection right to the last detail. Let your medals shine admirably by keeping them freshly polished and cared for.

Wear your Air Force medals with pride. You represent something greater; in fact, you symbolize the sacrifices of those who gave their lives before you. When you step out into the community in your Air Force uniform, let your medals reflect honorably as tributes to those who gave the greatest sacrifice- giving their lives so that others may be free.

Help Your Los Angeles Plumber Save You Money When There’s Water Damage When many homeowners call their local Los Angeles plumber about water damage, the harm has usually already been done. Hence, homeowners are quite naturally in a panic. This means that they usually wind up paying a premium for plumbing services. Following are some tips on how you can help your Los Angeles plumbers to save you some money if you have water damage. If you have water damage, before you call your local Los Angeles plumber, you can save money by taking the following steps. Remove Standing Water: While it will most likely be a messy, time-consuming job, this is the exact reason it will cost save you money if you do it before calling your local Los Angeles plumber.  You can manually sweep the water outdoors, or even rent a wet-vac to help make the process easier.  Remove Debris: If you have items that have been damaged beyond repair, move them to an area of your property where they can be easily picked up by trash haulers. This will save time when your Los Angeles plumber arrives, because they won’t have to work around debris and rubbish.Dry Out Water Logged Items: In the case of items you plan to keep like carpet, move it to a sunny area so it can begin the drying out process. This will help it two ways.

This helps to prevent mold growth and all the unpleasant odors that come with it. To speed up the drying out process, you can run a dehumidifier. This will also help to curb mold growth. Your Los Angeles plumbers will be grateful if you take these efforts – and it will save you money in the process.

Makeup Tips

January 11th, 2009

Have you ever asked yourself… how come the same makeup looks different on my girlfriend than it looks on me? Well, besides the different complexion and color of the person wearing it, the key, believe it or not, is in the application.  How to put on makeup is key when you want to achieve a certain look.

Maybe the way she applies her makeup might be completely different than yours:  for example some people prefer to use the fingers to diffuse foundation, eye shadow, etc, while others prefer to use makeup brushes or sponges.
If you don’t think you are skilled enough there is always help out there, so don’t be shy to ask a professional makeup artist…They sure know all the tricks there is to know about makeup application: from what kind of brushes to use and for what purpose, to the best selections of shades and color that better compliment your complexion.  But don’t think you will have to hire a professional and pay hundreds of dollars for a private consultation, that will not be necessary if you just know where to look.
Take advantage of trained people working the counters of any department store. For the most part they will be willing to help you and assist you with any questions you have.  Also think about an Ulta Makeup store near you, they have plenty of qualified people working the floor who also have knowledge about cosmetics.

I remember been there once picking up my first jar of mineral cosmetic, and trying to decide which color was right for me…well, thanks to Ulta help was on the way.

Best Way to Cut Energy Costs

January 8th, 2009

In just a few days President Elect Obama will take the office which is set to become one of the biggest events this country has ever seen. Even though this is one of the greatest moments for this country there is unfortunately a lack of optimism due to this incredible financial crisis being left by the previous administration for the new president to deal with.

Obama has already said that one of his first acts as president will be to pass an economic stimulus package to help the failing economy get back on its feet.  Many different groups are already starting to clamor to try and get a chunk of this money. The association of utilities that represents almost 70 percent of the nation’s power industries have joined forces with environmental groups to lobby congress for part of the money.

This group will be asking Congress to include $33 billion dollars in this stimulus package for state and local government programs that will help reduce wasteful energy practices. The programs include weatherizing government buildings to reduce the amount of energy wasted every year. It will also allow companies including los angeles air conditioning companies to install “smart meters” which will allow people to see exactly how much energy they are using and what it is costing them at any given time.

Experts agree that the reducing wasteful energy practices is not only the quickest way that this country can reduce the amount of energy that it uses it is also the cheapest and easiest to implement. It is a great way of reducing energy without making many sacrifices. There are already some states that have these incentives for example los angeles electric companies are allowed to have variable rates so that they will not lose money for selling less electricity, but these groups will be asking for the practices and laws to be nationally implemented.

Not all shoes are the same

December 31st, 2008

Half of your game is in your slide or your brake. Being able to change your style through interchangeable heels and soles gives you the option to adjust your game.

Accurate bowling requires proper foot placement and launch. Strategy varies according to a bowler’s style, some preferring to slide as they launch the ball for added velocity, others need a solid brake for rigid accuracy. By varying the concentration of sliding soles and braking heels, a bowler can individualize his or her preferences, customized to their game.

An innovator in the science of bowling technology, Dexter bowling shoes offer a bowler options to customize their shoe to their specified style of the game. A strong sole is recommended for normal or slippery approaches, ideal for a beginner bowler looking for a little slide. A strong heel is recommended for normal approaches, perfect for the “stroker” who wants the least amount of break.

The first to develop interchangeable sliding soles and breaking heals to accommodate different approach conditions, Dexter allows a bowler to switch soles or heels during the game, depending on how much slide or brake they desire. This approach can be unique to the best of their game, or switched and altered for a new strategy.

Known to be the number one bowling shoe in the world, Dexter bowling shoes bring breakthroughs to the sport. They do so because of an open line of communication they establish with their customers, continually re-evaluating the quality of their shoes through customer feedback. They have an openness to suggestions and ideas, and they listen to the bowlers who use their items.

You want comfort, style and performance in a footwear. You want versatility and interchangeable styles. A leader in the bowling footwear industry, Dexter bowling footwear have brought innovation to the game. They give a bowler room to adjust his or her game. Maybe that’s why they’re the chosen foot-ware of 2007-2008 PBA Tour Player of the Year Chris Barnes. Williams won 44 career single titles, the most of all-time.

Customizing your footwear to your individual style optimizes your performance. Whether you want a heavy brake or a nice long glide going into the throw, the choice is up to you. A versatile footwear gives you more options.

Will Hedge Funds Be a Thing of the Past

December 23rd, 2008

How is your Hedge fund performance? Is it time to change strategies?Proof is in the end results. Results change with the times. Investment methods that worked just a few years ago now break the bank. Judge your portfolio’s direction by its current trends, not the upswings you may have encountered in the past. What were once top performing funds are now encountering record losses, accelerating at a rate that alarms even the experts.

What used to be sure solid bets are now definite frustrations, so why keep betting on the same thing? It’s a new game, and those who don’t learn the rules will miss out. Are hedge funds a thing of the past? Hardly, though the game has gotten more difficult.

As markets slide, rise and circulate at increasing rates, adjustability for change is key to profitable hedge fund performance. Investors now need to focus on multi-manager portfolios, rather than single manger localizations. The old adage of putting all your eggs in one basket holds true, especially when the financial chicken hen is on the loose.

In today’s market you have to specialize in spreading your investments over a number of different markets, adjusting them to meet the changes in order to minimize loss and maximize investment. You need a financial trading advisor who works to sustain your assets in these challenging times, protecting them through a combination of investments ranging from currencies, energies, metals, short and long term interest rates, domestic and international stock indices and traditional commodities.

Using a consultative portfolio approach utilizes the best choices on the market, changing with the shifts of the market. The ability to rise and fall helps your investments ride the deviating waves and stay above water.

Of course, not all multi-manager portfolios are consistent. Manager selection should go beyond mere statistics and correlation, which can become skewed during chaotic market conditions. Using a qualified network of investment professionals can help you adapt to the changing market, without being brushed up and lost in the trends.

Watch the direction of your investments. Are they still working for you? Times are changing, and perhaps, it’s time to change with the times.
